Charles Hoffmann

Financial Advisor

Charlie is president and chief executive officer of Portin Hoffmann Financial Group, Inc. (PHFG). Founded in 1946 by Alvin A. Portin, PHFG is a full-service financial advisory practice, specializing in the financial needs of small business owners, professionals, and their businesses.

Charlie has been in the financial management business for more than 22 years. From his days as an analyst in the pharmaceutical industry to his current responsibility for the day-to-day management of the financial dreams of his clients, Charlie has been steadfast in his vision for helping people with their money. His longstanding belief is that his job is more keeping people from making wrong decisions than finding the ever-elusive diamond in the rough. He clearly understands that, while his clients know how to make money, his responsibility is to help make their money work.

In addition, Charlie has a unique hands-on knowledge of the small business owner. Prior to PHFG, he co-founded a marketing research firm, which Charlie and his partners sold to a Fortune 500 company and had the opportunity to deal with tremendous growth, incredible change, and financial challenges similar to those we see every day.

Peter Hoffmann

Chief Investment Officer

As chief financial officer and investment analyst for Portin Hoffmann Financial Group, Peter helps create and provide portfolio design and management for individuals and small business owners. He is responsible for more than 250 households across the mid-Atlantic region.

Peter has been in the financial services industry for more than 15 years. Prior to becoming a partner of PHFG, he spent four years with Smith Barney in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. This gave him a unique prospective of working in a large Wall Street firm. Deciding to move closer to his original roots in Philadelphia, Peter teamed up with his brother, Charles Hoffmann, and launched an investment arm of a long-standing life insurance firm. Since that time, the company has experienced exceptional growth despite operating in one of the most challenging periods ever in the history of the stock market.
